Introduced in Generation III, Grovyle is the first evolution of the Hoenn Grass starter Pokémon Treecko.

Grovyle is a major character in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. Early in the game, Grovyle is discovered to be stealing the Time Gears, and is labeled as a criminal.
