He is the antagonist to Moriarty and also the figure around which Moriarty's plan revolves. He enjoys the puzzles, is a violin player, has a prodigious observational skill, well-versed in hand -to-hand combat and has a machiavellian attitude when it comes to something he wants. He is a detective consultant and can be considered an intellectual match and rival to Moriarty himself.
